Award Winning Community Help Point Scheme (CHiPS) - Completed December 2008

In August 2008, Prefix Associates were retained by Enfield Children's and Young Person's Services (ECYPS) to market the Community Help Point Scheme (CHiPS) to businesses in Enfield. The Scheme was established after a survey of over 1,300 local young people revealed that whilst wanting to be involved with a wide range of activities, many felt unable to because they were inhibited by safety concerns whilst travelling in the Borough.

ECYPS had already got the commitment and support of the local council offices, libraries and metropolitan police. However the challenge was to get the commitment of commercial businesses. With Prefix Associates guidance, over 20 local stores in strategic locations, including Sainsburys, Asda, McDonalds, Marks & Spencers and the Co-op, were successfully persuaded to get involved and display a 'community help point 'logo in their windows and for staff to receive training to help these young people. Several smaller businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops, and hair and beauty salons also committed to the scheme. The idea is that if a young person is in difficulty, they can find a safe haven in the store until further help is sought if needed.

The scheme won the national Children and Young People's Services Award in November 2008, sponsored by the Children's Workforce Development Council.

ASHA- HOPE Project - Completed March 2007

Prefix Associates were chosen by ProDiverse to run a series of motivational events across three North London Boroughs. The purpose of these events was to encourage women from ethnic minorities to choose enterprise as an option and start up their own businesses.

Prefix brought in three successful women entrepreneurs who told their own success stories of starting their businesses from scratch and how they grew them. Practical workshops helped the delegates to develop and share their own business ideas and prizes were awarded for the best business ideas.

There were display stands showcasing the work of women entrepreneurs.

Over 150 women mainly from Asian Pakistani and Bangladeshi background attended the events and gave glowing feedback.
